The programme was developed with the help of the International Society of Neuropathology, through its network of national societies.

The overview of the programme below shows keynote lectures, morning and evening, and parallel sessions comprising plenary lectures, symposia and workshops through the day. Posters were displayed and discussed in the middle of the day and there were targeted Hot Topic Tea-Time discussions of posters with presenters and audience.

ISN General Assembly

The General Assembly of the International Society of Neuropathology took place on Wednesday 6 September 2000 at 9.30 a.m.

Posters

Posters were the main form in which original research and clinical pathological data was presented at the Congress. They were viewed for two hours in the middle of the day, during which time experts in the field discussed the posters with presenters in preparation for the Tea-Time sessions.

Poster Discussions

Posters related to distinct themes, clusters of related posters, were discussed together in 'Tea-time' sessions between 16:30 and 17:30. Posters were visited by a nominated expert during the lunch time session. A poster discussant then presented a summary of the most informative material.

Oral presentations

Most of the Symposia and Workshops contained two or three twenty minute sessions with a small number of free communications selected from the submitted abstracts.

All abstracts and summaries of plenary lectures were published in Brain Pathology.
