Bursaries for young presenters
The British Neuropathological Society, in association with Neuropathology
and Applied Neurobiology, offered 50 bursaries for presenters under the
age of 35 years, regardless of nationality. These bursaries amounted to
50% of the registration fee.

Franz Nissl Award
The Franz Nissl Award was made to
- Dr Claire Shepherd who is a recipient of the Sir Zelman Cowen Universities Fund and is currently working as a Research Officer at
the Centre for Education and Research into Ageing, Department of Immunology, Concord Hospital, Concord, Sydney, Australia.
- Dr Nadezhda Dubrovskaya who presently holds a research post in the Laboratory of Comparative Physiology and Pathology of the
Central Nervous System at the I.M.Sechenov Institute of Evolutionary Physiology and Biochemistry, Russian Academy of
Sciences in St.Petersburg, Russia.

The award consisted of appropriate expenses for travel, accommodation
and conference registration, together with a diploma. The successful applicants also
gave an oral presentation at the Congress.
